Aug 25 2017 Weekly News Bulletin – 25th August 2017 This week we couldn’t resist once again sharing that we have been named as one of the UK’s top construction suppliers to work with (over 25million), voted for by the supply chain. Here at Metsec, we strive to give a premium service in every aspect, so it is brilliant to have this recognised. It was also shared that a fourth aluminium cladding material system has failed the Government’s fire safety testing regime, which comes after last week reporting that two wall cladding systems had passed the same fire safety standards. We’ll keep you updated as we know more. In other news, we reminded people to book their tickets to Explore Offsite Healthcare, a one day conference with exhibitions to create a platform for construction clients and their professional advisers to explore the latest offsite construction solutions. VR Focus reported that the UK government is investing £1 million in the AWE Consortium to advance VR/AR technology. It will certainly be interesting to see how virtual reality could help develop the construction industry into a more efficient sector. Finally, we shared data from the Builders Merchants Building Index that showed a daily sales growth by 5.3%. Positive news showing the construction industry is continuing to grow.
