Apprenticeships

Recruiting apprentices for over 30 years.

Our apprenticeship programme offers the opportunity to earn, learn and develop valuable industry skills within a dynamic manufacturing and engineering environment. Working alongside experienced professionals, apprentices gain real-world experience across a wide range of technical and business disciplines, building strong foundations for a rewarding career.

We usually recruit our engineering apprentices annually through In-Comm Training and Business Services, helping the next generation develop the skills, knowledge and confidence needed to succeed.

Apprenticeships have long been part of our commitment to developing talent, and we’re proud to have celebrated the milestone of recruiting our 100th apprentice. Our ambition is for apprentices to make up over 20% of the voestalpine Metsec workforce by 2030, reflecting the important role they play in the future of our business.

Over the years, both our apprentices and apprenticeship programme have received industry recognition, including:

  • 2023 – In-comm Business and Training Services Apprentice Ambassador Award
  • 2019 – Our apprentice won the Metals Industry Apprentice of the Year Award
  • 2016 – In-Comm Apprentice Ambassador Award
  • 2014 – Express and Star employer award for apprenticeships.

Apprentices play an important role across the business, gaining hands-on experience in areas such as toolmaking, structural design, sales, maintenance, project engineering, profile manipulation, custom roll forming and quality. Whether on the shop floor, in engineering offices or supporting customers, our apprentices contribute to real projects while developing valuable skills for the future.
