Product marking assures universal acceptance

With UKCA marking of construction products being possible from January 2021 and mandatory for products placed on the British market after 1 January 2022, Metsec has taken steps to ensure that its steel framing systems comply with requirements for markets in Great Britain, Northern Ireland and Europe.

Following successful assessments to BS EN 1090-1+A1:2011 – ‘Execution of steel structures and aluminium structures’ from bsi’s British and European offices, Metsec’s steel framing products now carry both UKCA and CE marks.

Metsec is now applying both UKCA and CE marks together on all relevant products, providing customers with total confidence in their suitability for use across the United Kingdom and Europe.

Alan Harris, Quality Director at Metsec, states, “Our customers include major international companies operating in home and continental arenas. It is essential that we provide them with products which meet the performance standards relevant to all markets and that they are appropriately marked.

“Successful assessment to UK and EU standards and the subsequent application of both UKCA and CE marks to our products avoids confusion and provides customers with complete assurance of our product’s quality and performance.”

Declarations of Performance for both UKCA and CE marked products can be found on Metsec’s Certificates page.
