CCPI verification for Purlins

In keeping with a company-wide commitment to providing specifiers, installers and users with clear, unambiguous information about products and their performance, voestalpine Metsec’s Purlins Division has recently achieved verification with the Code for Construction Product Information (CCPI) for its roof, side rail and mezzanine floor systems.

Introduced by the Construction Products Association in response to Dame Judith Hackitt’s review of Building Regulations and Fire Safety, set up following the Grenfell Tower tragedy, CCPI aims to address the reviews stipulation that construction product information needs to be communicated in a clear and accurate way.

The aim of the CCPI is to help organisations drive for higher standards in the presentation of construction product information, with a priority on building safety.

Assessments are undertaken by verifiers from Construction Products Information Ltd. and are carried out on a company’s specific products and systems, not the company as a whole. As such, an organisation or brand cannot, in itself, gain verification or make any claims of compliance beyond a specific product set.

voestalpine Metsec has set up a rigorous information review process across to ensure that messaging from all divisions is based on accurate, verifiable data and that this information is presented in a clear and accessible manner which can be easily found and assimilated by its intended target audience.

Alan Harris, Quality and BIM Compliance Director at voestalpine Metsec, states, “We pride ourselves on being the best in the markets in which we operate. Independently verified product performance is a key factor in maintaining our position at the forefront of our industry and CCPI verification provides specifiers and customers with added assurance of the veracity of our product information.

“Our formal internal processes review all performance statements before they are released for external use, whether these be in technical, sales or marketing activity. The system ensures that the product performance statements we make are as clear and accurate as possible.”

Purlins Division Sales Director, Lee Whitford adds, “CCPI verification underlines our focus on making performance data readily available, accurate and easy to understand. It will enable designers to specify our products and systems with absolute confidence.”
