School Visits
Metsec has close links with local schools through the Black Country "Metals Academy" and our apprentices have the opportunity of training to be Ambassadors to help teachers with lessons and explain to 15 and 16 year olds the benefits of being an Apprentice. Apprentices who have been Ambassadors have found it a very worthwhile learning experience.
Local Company Visits
You will be visiting major companies in the industry such as Corus with Apprentices working in other local companies. There are opportunities for competing in the Annual MetSkill soccer tournament.
Outward Bound Course
All second year Apprentices are expected to participate in an Outward Bound week in the Lake District aimed at developing decision making skills, team working and leadership
