Metsec plc – Purlin Division supplied 150 tonnes of light gauge galvanised steel zed purlins and ‘C’-section side rails to support the roof and external wall cladding on a 20,000 seater sports stadium in Swansea, which is shared by Swansea City Football Club and The Ospreys Rugby Club.

Wind loads on the complex structure range from 0.986 kN/m2 up to 3.255 kN/m2 and Metsec’s in house engineers used the company’s own MetSPEC  building shell design software to identify the best structural and most cost effective solution for the project.
