Metsec plc – Purlin Division supplied over 100 tonnes of light gauge galvanised steel zed purlins and ‘C’-section side rails for a new distribution centre and offices for the 12,880 m² GAME Stores Group in Basingstoke.

A single span sleeved purlin system, based on 232 mm deep sections
1.8 mm or 2.5 mm thick material, was specified to carry the lightweight metal sheeting roof covering. The purlins also needed to support heavy mechanical smoke vents on the multi bay pitched roof of the portal frame distribution centre which stands over 15 metres high at the eaves.
