Lattice Beams Division :long span lattice beam purlin
lattice division Metsec’s Lattice Beam Division is the UK’s largest manufacturer of lightweight steel lattice beams joists and trusses, including parallel, pitched, tapered and curved designs with spans of up to 40m.

Lightweight and easy to handle, they offer ideal structural support with optimum strength to weight ratio. The open web configuration of the steel beam or steel truss allows for the easy passage of services, whilst an optional timber insert lying flush with the top and bottom chords can provide for the simple fixing of roof, floor and ceiling coverings.

Steel Lattice Beam Products Range:

Traditional floor beam systems

Curved Steel Beam

Lattice Beams: Curved Steel Beams

Curved roof beams can provide an aesthetically enhanced roof profile providing extra headroom over that afforded by the curved steel truss. When used with a standing seam roof this type of roof is easy to detail and install giving a low maintenance roof.

Double Curved Steel Truss

Lattice Beams: Double Curved Steel Truss

Double curved roof trusses provide an ideal solution for the designer working with modern multi curved roof truss structures. When used in conjunction with the Metsec SFS wall framing system a very lightweight structure can be provided making them ideal for both standalone structures and pent house type structures built on top of existing buildings.

Inverted Curved Steel Truss

Lattice Beams:Inverted Curved Steel Truss

Inverted Curved Steel Trusses offer designers a simple solution when specifying a single curve roof truss structure. This can be used to enhance the appearance of roof structures and is frequently specified with standing seam roofing to create a smooth appearance.

Parallel Steel Roof Beams

Lattice Beams: Curved Steel Truss

Parallel Steel Roof Beams - suitable for use with flat roofs or sloping roofs where the lattice roof beams can be laid to falls. The steel beams can also be used as long span lattice purlins and are suitable for use with most external finishes from lightweight metal sheeting through to heavier constructions with tiles on battens or decking.

Steel Lattice Beam Support Service:

Our extensive technical support includes a free design and detailing service, with layout and fixing detail drawings, plus full calculations for Building Regulations submission. Alternatively, free LatticeSPEC software, with links to the latest wind code, BS6399-2: 1997 and BREVe database for topography, helps architects and engineers carry out their conceptual lattice roof beam, floor beam or roof truss designs quickly and easily.

Metsec steel beams and steel trusses were first introduced in the 1950’s and their inherent advantages quickly established the lattice beam product as the first choice for structurally sound cost effective construction.

All of our lattice steel beam designs give optimal levels of structural performance in roof, floor, or any other application where lightweight and long span performance is important.
