Steel purlins, side rails and mezzanine floor systems

Metsec’s Purlin Division is the UK’s largest designer and manufacturer of light gauge galvanised Steel Purlins, Side Rails and Mezzanine Floor systems for use in a wide range of industrial and commercial developments.

Our steel systems are manufactured from 450N/mm² guaranteed yield strength material for greater strength and reduced project weights. Metsec Z and C-section purlins are available in profile heights from 142mm to 342mm and thicknesses from 1.3mm to 3.0mm and are available with a full range of accessories.

Customer Service and Technical Support

Our purlin customers are supported by our market leading MetSPEC building shell design software, which links to the latest wind code BS 6399-2:1997 and to the BREVe database for topography, whilst comprehensive technical support is provided by our purlin design office. Customers using our MetCAM detailing software, as well as some other 3D draughting systems, are able to transfer steel purlin data to Metsec electronically which we can then process and use to programme our rolling mills thereby eliminating errors, improving efficiency and minimising delivery lead times for all our steel purlin orders.
