Metsec CPD seminars on site fix light steel framing
Metsec's Framing Division is offering specially designed seminars for architects and consultant engineers on site fixed, light gauge steel framing systems.
Metsec has received independent Continuing Personal/Professional Development (CPD) certification for its seminars, which give architects and structural engineers a design guide to the different types of sited fixed light gauge steel framing systems available, and how and where they should be specified.
The hour- long presentation includes sections on the key benefits of 'through-the-wall' steel frame construction, the main design considerations when specifying these systems and a six- point quality performance checklist. Case studies illustrate typical installations, including infill and continuous walling, high bay separating walls and free-standing low-rise buildings.
The intermediate level seminar is described by the CPD as appropriate for novices to experienced participants. Architects and structural engineers wanting to book a free CPD presentation, to be held in their offices at a time to suit, should contact Mark Evans, Marketing Manager, Purlin and Frames Division on 0121 601 6000.
Pioneered by Metsec in the UK, the use of site fixed, light gauge steel framing is growing rapidly as architects, specifiers and developers recognise the benefits of the highly versatile system. The fast track building method, manufactured from lightweight, cold-rolled, galvanised steel offers all-dry installation. Up to 30% lighter than masonry and 30% quicker to build than traditional blockwork, the key benefits are an early dry envelope, predictable construction programmes and costs, improved health and safety, environmental benefits, durability and lower whole life costs.
