The challenge was to produce lightweight trusses which could span the complete 20-25m width of the existing building, carry a concrete tile roof with a pitch of 25 degrees and be detailed, delivered and erected within a two month timescale over the Dorset school's summer holidays.

Over-roofing using Metsec's trusses was chosen as a faster and more economical solution than re-roofing the 1236m² single storey building.
