"Sometimes in the sixties, when we were making the car parts they didn't quite fit the checking jig and they had to be set by twisting them slightly. If you twisted too far, you ruined the part because you put a crease in the metal. Those of us who worked there got a feel for this. You had to have a feel for the metal."
