When it was decided to build the £10 million, single storey, 7,117 m², nursery unit, primary school and children's centre in an 80 week construction programme, Metsec SFS was selected to provide 4,850 m² SFS infill to the hot rolled steel frame.
This was then clad using brick, render and high pressure laminate board to provide a durable, high quality finish.

 

Taking the approved Metsec installers just 18 weeks to install the SFS infill walling, the speed of erection and flexibility were the main reasons for Metsec's SFS site fixed light gauge galvanised steel framing helped the rapid completion and handover of the new learning campus in South Shields
