This week we were pleased to announce that we have been named as one of the country’s top construction suppliers to work alongside, as voted for by the supply chain, with the winner of the award being announced on the 10th October - we’ll keep you updated!
It was reported that the government-commissioned tests of cladding systems have found two wall cladding systems so far that have passed fire safety standards, but with further assessments still taking place. At Metsec, we understand the importance of rigorous and thorough testing, carrying out fire, thermal and acoustic testing on our products to ensure compliance with current regulations.
We also reported on a survey conducted by The British Institute of Facilities Management (BIFM) where 89% of facilities managers believe that BIM will have a significant impact on their role. As certified to BIM Level 2, we have seen first-hand how significant BIM has become and what an important method it is.
Finally, we shared The Construction Index’s news that on Monday 21st August, Big Ben will sound its last bell chimes until 2021 for renovation to take place. Whilst the wider renovation project for Palace of Westminster Restoration and Renewal Programme is not expected to start work until 2020’s, work on the tower was too urgent to be delayed.
